Agreeing to these terms

By creating an account or using TrustedStays, you agree to these terms of use. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the app.

Your account

• You must be 18 or older, and the details you give us must be accurate and your own.
• Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens through your account.
• One account per person, please.

What TrustedStays is

TrustedStays is where members share their own accommodation recommendations. Every recommendation is the personal opinion of the member who wrote it. We are not a booking agent, we do not take payments, and we do not own or manage any stay, so we cannot promise that a stay is available, accurate, safe or priced as described. Anything you arrange, you arrange directly with the stay.

Your content

• What you add stays yours. By posting it, you give us permission to show it in the app and in the links you share.
• Only post what is yours to post, including photos you have the right to use.
• Do not post anything false or misleading, defamatory, unlawful, or that infringes someone else's rights.
• You can delete your own stays and recommendations at any time.

Using the app fairly

• No spam, no scraping, no impersonating another person, and no automated accounts or bulk posting.
• Do not try to reach data that is not yours: other members' details, private groups you are not part of, or the app's records and functions.
• Do not upload viruses or share links that lead somewhere harmful.

Groups and other members

Group admins decide who joins their group. What is shared inside a group is visible to its members, so share with care. Recommendations and discussions are between members, and we are not a party to them.

Moderation

We may remove content, merge duplicate stays, or suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other members at risk.

Links to other sites

Stays often link to the accommodation's own website. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for what they contain or how they handle your information.

Availability and liability

The app is provided as is. We work to keep it available, but we cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for arrangements and payments you make directly with a stay. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act where they apply.

Ending your use

You may stop using the app at any time and ask us to close your account. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken.

Changes to these terms

We update these terms from time to time and show the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa.
